My own prayer wheel obtained in Lhasa in 1985 was the model for this painting. Inside the prayer wheel is a roll of printed prayers. With each revolution of the wheel, the prayers are repeated. I used the Tibetan script “Om mani padme hum” (Oh Jewel in the Lotus – the most basic of Tibetan prayers) in the background.
